Portland SEO Insight

Google recently launched a new statistical tool called Insight.

With Google Insight we can put in a search term and see trends in the volume of searches for that term. It also generates a list of related keywords… very useful for finding out what variations on your key phrase are the most used.

This tool can help us take the guess work out of coming up with keyword lists. By having statistical data on the the keyword trends we can know what phrases we should be spending SEO time on.

Probably the most useful feature is the ability to track keyword interest by region, which can give us insight on where to direct paid advertising.

There is another tool called Google Trends that we use to compare a set of keywords to see which is more searched.
